Wilson Nesbitt Solicitors Graduate Programme 2019

Wilson Nesbitt offer at least five solicitors training contracts for the Northern Ireland Institute of Professional Legal Studies on a yearly basis. The firm has a track record of always having been committed to providing the best of the local legal talent with a pathway to qualification as a solicitor. Five of the current partners of the firm started out their legal careers in Wilson Nesbitt on a pre qualification graduate programme.

 

Graduate Applicants

We are delighted to announce details of our 2019 graduate programme intake. Wilson Nesbitt are committed to providing high calibre legal jobs in the local employment market that are the foundation for successful legal career development. We are particularly keen to attract:-

  • 2019 or earlier law graduates who are seeking solicitor training contracts commencing September 2020;
  • 2019 or earlier non law graduates who are considering commencing a course in September 2020 to convert their non law degree to a law degree;

The successful candidates will commence employment with the firm in August 2019.

 

Graduate Programme

Stage 1 is an interview process to select Stage 2 participants.

Stage 2  successful candidates will participate in an induction programme which will include two days rotation observing the operation of practitioners in different departments within the firm.

Stage 3 successful candidates will have online and in-house training and will be assigned to a specific department within the firm to commence work in that department.  The work will be on client files alongside and under the direction and supervision of the department solicitors and will involve regular client contact.

 

Law Graduates

All successful law graduate candidates accepted on to our graduate programme will be eligible to apply for a solicitor training contract with Wilson Nesbitt commencing in September 2020. We encourage law graduate programme participants with us to take the IPLS examination in December 2019. We provide financial assistance on production of receipts to assist law graduate programme participants towards the cost of preparatory tuition and the examination fees.

Non Law Graduates

All successful non law graduates will be eligible for a Wilson Nesbitt supported College of Law two year part time online conversion course commencing September 2020. Those successfully attaining a place on this programme:-

  • Will be able to continue to work full time in Wilson Nesbitt earning a salary;
  • Will have part of their course fees paid by the firm on successful completion of the course each year.
