Northern Ireland house prices by region and type
House prices in Northern Ireland dropped in the third quarter of this year according to the latest University of Ulster Quarterly House Price Index, with apartments in particular experiencing the biggest decline.
Not taking into account properties sold at auction, the average house price in Northern Ireland in the third quarter of 2012 was £138,966 – 1.75% down on the previous quarter. Apartment prices in Northern Ireland have dropped 22.7% over this year, while bungalows have dropped by 12.5% and terraced houses and semi-detached houses are down 11.7% and 8.5% respectively. Two property types managed to buck the trend by experiencing an increase in values over the year, with detached bungalows up 16.1% and detached houses up by 9.3%.
There is a considerable difference in average house prices throughout the regions of Northern Ireland, and a list can be found below. South Belfast continues to be the most expensive area to purchase, followed closely by North Down. Properties are costing least in Enniskillen/Fermanagh/South Tyrone, followed closely by North Belfast.
