Derry woman sentenced for driving offences

Londonderry woman Sheilagh Edwards, aged 55, has been sentenced to 18 months probation for driving offences, and has lost her license for 10 years.

Ms Edwards knocked down in a pedestrian on Chapel Road, and was later discovered to be three times over the legal limit to drive. She was charged with dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, and driving while over the legal limit. It is her sixth conviction for drink driving, prompting Judge Barney McElholm to call her a "danger to us all". She has been given 18 months probation and disqualified from driving for 10 years.
