Survey reveals complacency over drink driving

A survey carried out by the AA has found that Northern Ireland motorists are among the most complacent when it comes to drinking and driving.

The UK wide survey results show a disturbingly casual approach to drink driving, with 11% of Welsh motorists saying it was normal to drive home after drinking alcohol, with 7% of all those who responded saying they thought it was ok to get behind the wheel as long as you had only had a few drinks.

Drink driving is responsible for fatal road traffic accidents in Northern Ireland and the rest of the UK throughout the year, and AA DriveTech director Andy Wheeler encourages drivers to adopt a "zero tolerance approach and not drink anything alcoholic if you are driving,"
