About Daren

Daren joined Wilson Nesbitt after graduating from the University of Ulster with an honours degree in law.

Daren specialises in criminal and civil litigation.   His workload consists of representing clients at each stage of the criminal justice system, from attendance at police stations, to the Magistrates’ Court, Crown Court, High Court and Court of Appeal. He also has a particular interest in civil dispute resolution, fraud, regulatory and compliance matters, judicial review and all aspect of human rights law.

Daren is the firm’s specialist mental health law solicitor.  He advises patients and their families on all aspects of the Mental Health (Northern Ireland) Order 1986.  He regularly appears before Mental Health Review Tribunals on behalf of detained patients and is experienced in bringing human rights based litigation, judicial reviews and compensation claims in the field of mental health.

More about Daren

In his spare time Daren enjoys triathlons and cycling and has raised significant amounts for charity.  He has completed several marathons and in the summer of 2015 cycled the over 1,000 miles from John O’Groats to Lands End in nine days as part of a sponsored fund raising effort.
