About Drew

Drew is a partner in our Real Estate team specialising in the development of real estate assets.
  
He is a dual qualified (England and Wales / Northern Ireland) real estate solicitor specialising in large mixed use regeneration schemes.  He won the BCO rising star wards in 2017 and was ranked in the Legal 500 in 2018, 2019 and 2020 being noted as “professional” and “instrumental in strategic investment and letting transactions”.

Drew advises developer and housing associations focussed on complex mixed use and housing led regeneration projects.

 

 

Experience

  • Advising Radius Housing Association on the Northern Irish real estate elements of its £105m bond issue to 7 global institutional investors.

  • Acting for the Greater London Authority on the selection of London and Regional as its development partner for the 10 hectare Albert Island site in the London Docklands. The mixed use development will have a gross developed value of close to £1bn.  His previous firm was shortlisted for Property Team of the year at the Legal Week Awards 2018 on the basis of this transaction.

  • Acting for Change Real Estate on the development of the 3 acre city centre Redcliff Quarter in Bristol to include a new 24 storey tower block, 185 bed hotel, 15,000 square feet of office accommodation and 317 residential units.

  • Acting for Bouygues Development on the development of the 2 acre Ambulance Station site in Bristol to include a 26 storey tower block with 300 private for rent units.

  • Acting for Highways England on the relocation of the M25 by Heathrow to facilitate the £14bn third runway project.

  • Acting for Novatio/Aviva on the Northern Irish aspects of a first of a kind UK wide rooftop solar financing with 3,100 assets located in Northern Ireland.

  • Acting for ERG Renew on the acquisition and subsequent disposal for £163m of the 19 turbine Brockaghboy Wind Farm with a generating capacity of 47.5Mw (in the largest NI wind deal in 2018).

  • Acting for Baywa on the acquisition and development of the largest solar farm in Northern Ireland (194 acres with 76 Mw of generating capacity).

  • Acting for Gravis Capital Partners on the acquisition of the 5 turbine Garves Wind Farm and the 20 turbine Slieve Rushen Wind Farm (the largest generating wind farm in NI).
