About Neil

Neil joined Wilson Nesbitt in 2006 having completed a degree in Law & Politics. During the property boom in 2006 and 2007 Neil worked as a risk manager in our busy residential conveyancing department handling sale, purchase and remortgage transactions. During his training contract with the firm Neil subsequently worked in commercial litigation where he was involved in a number of High Court and County Court cases. Neil's property expertise enabled him to provide advice and support for cases involving disputes over contracts for the sale and purchase of land as well as boundary disputes and professional negligence actions.

Neil became a partner in 2015. He currently handles a large number of commercial property transactions as well as a range of corporate and commercial matters. He has a wide client base which includes a number of property investors and developers, pension companies and financial institutions. Neil provides expert legal advice and support to a range of businesses and believes in assisting his clients in every aspect of their day to day business. He has recently acted in a number of share and asset sales and purchases advising both seller and purchasers in respect of same.

For Neil being a solicitor is about more than just being there when things go wrong in business, “Knowing your client and their business is essential to provide advice as and when it is needed. Satisfaction comes when you see the end product working for your client and receive a word of appreciation from them. Knowing that your client is achieving their ambitions and that you have assisted them along the way by taking the stress out of a complex contract negotiation or conveyance is what makes the job worthwhile”.

In 2014 Neil won the Herbert Smith Freehills Young Leader of the Year award. The award was recognition of Neil’s achievements in his professional life and his contribution to a number of business organisations that he is actively involved in.

Neil is a committee member of the Northern Ireland Commercial Property Lawyers Association.
