What is inheritance tax?

Inheritance tax is a tax that may be payable on an individual's estate after they die. There are a number of factors that determine whether it needs to be paid, including the size of the estate and the types of transfer made.

You'll need to complete inheritance tax returns and submit them to the Capital Taxes Office.

Make sure it's done properly

We have an experienced team of in-house inheritance tax solicitors who will guide you through the process, including;

  • completing the Inheritance Tax returns documentation for submission to the Capital Taxes Office
  • advising on any tax liabilities arising
  • completing Income Tax returns for the deceased
  • during the administration period, applying for any tax repayments that are due
  • ensuring that the tax affairs of both the deceased and the administrators are considered closed by the appropriate authorities
