Wilson Nesbitt raises £4,000 for Charity of the Year, AWARE NI
Wilson Nesbitt is pleased to announce that it has raised a total of £4,000 for AWARE NI, its Charity of the Year chosen in July 2023
AWARE NI is the Depression Charity for Northern Ireland, with an established network of 23 support groups nationwide. Support groups welcome people with anxiety, depression and bipolar disorder, as well as caring for people with mental illness.
Over the last year, the Wilson Nesbitt team has organised and taken part in several fundraising events, including a Santa Abseil Challenge, where the team scaled the Europa Hotel Belfast, a Sea Splash at Ballyholme Beach, taking a cold plunge for the charity and participating in the Belfast Marathon as a relay team. In addition, AWARE NI has run mental health awareness training firmwide to help individuals and teams identify and manage mental health in the workplace.
Hannah Simpson, CSR lead at Wilson Nesbitt, says: “We chose to partner with AWARE NI because of the fantastic work they do in the community, visiting schools, colleges, universities and workplaces with their mental health and well-being programmes. Depression can affect anyone, so their work is vital.”
Lisa Abell-FarRelly, Corporate Relationship Officer, at AWARE NI says: “Thank you, Wilson Nesbitt, for choosing us to be your charity of the year 2023. It’s been a wonderful partnership, and we’ve thoroughly enjoyed the team’s enthusiasm for fundraising events and getting stuck in to raise awareness for our cause.”
Wilson Nesbitt will announce its next charity of the year over the coming days.
