International Women’s Day 2024
Today is International Women’s Day (IWD), a global day that has been celebrated for over 100 years to celebrate women’s social, economic, cultural, and political achievements.
The theme for IWD 2023 is #InspiringInclusivity. This year, to celebrate, Wilson Nesbitt asked our less camera-shy colleagues to step in front of the lens and share with you the women who have inspired them, the best piece of advice they’ve ever received from another woman and their advice to women wanting to start their career in the legal profession.
Of course, loved ones are mentioned, like Grannys and sisters, but it wouldn’t be #IWD in the legal sector without a shoutout to Lady Chief Justice, who partner Ciara Brolly rightly says has paved the way for many women in the legal profession.
Advice to others looking for a career in the legal sector includes:
‘If you believe in yourself, you can make it.’
‘Get as much experience in different businesses as you can’
‘Don’t let the rejections get in the way.’
