Wilson Nesbitt grows Dispute Resolution Team

Wilson Nesbitt is pleased to announce a number of new appointments to its growing Dispute Resolution team.

The firm’s latest hires include Senior Solicitor, Scott Smid, and Legal Executive, Órla Eves. Scott joins the firm from a large regional English law firm, bringing specialist expertise in commercial litigation, while Órla supports the team’s debt recovery practice. The team has been further strengthened by the promotion of Joe Sweeney to Solicitor following his successful completion of the firm’s trainee solicitor programme.  Joe will provide support to the personal injury team.

This year Wilson Nesbitt has also become one of several law firms in NI to support Ulster University’s Degree Level Apprenticeship in Law programme, which enables apprentices to gain practical experience of working in a law firm while completing a Law degree at Ulster University’s School of Law. In September, Helen Osborne became the first Legal Apprentice to join the firm, gaining professional legal experience in the Dispute Resolution team.

Partner and Head of Dispute Resolution, Neil Cahill, comments:

“The past few months have been a very exciting period of growth for our Dispute Resolution team. We are delighted to welcome Scott, Órla and Helen to our growing team and we congratulate Joe on his recent qualification to Solicitor. Having grown to a team of eight, we have significantly enhanced our resilience and capacity to support increasing numbers of both individual and corporate clients on a full range of litigation and dispute resolution matters.

We are also pleased to be one of a small number of law firms in NI to welcome a legal apprentice to our team this year through Ulster University’s Legal Apprenticeship in Law programme – an exciting opportunity to invest in the future generation of legal talent while offering an alternative route to the legal profession for aspiring solicitors.”
