Northern Ireland average house prices increase in 2019

New figures, published by Ulster University in partnership with Progressive Building society and the Northern Ireland Housing Executive, have revealed that average house prices in Northern Ireland have enjoyed a 1% increase since the start of the year.

This period of stability comes in spite of looming political and economic uncertainty caused by Brexit, but researchers are confident that “while quarterly growth continues to be subdued, economic conditions in Northern Ireland support the outlook of an affordable housing market.”

The reporting period, encompassing January to March 2019, revealed that the overall average house price in Northern Ireland is £162,914 which represents a 1.2% increase on the same period last year.

The most expensive properties were detached houses in Belfast which had a price of £323,003 on average, while the cheapest were apartments in the Derry and Strabane area which had a an average cost of £56,333.
